Map Art – Different City Patterns

Sitting in my living room with a wall full of map art, I have times to wonder, what this city shapes resemble. I compare Tokyo, New York or Amsterdam. Cities made by mankind that grow from a single settlement. Viewing from a top, makes a piece of art. Changing the perspective gives a better and more inspiring view. Thousands of houses joined by hundreds of streets makes this cities. A living organism that has its shape based on a topography. Sea, river or forest are the bounders of this structure. Sometimes people overcome the nature and made a perfect shape, but usually the geometry become rectangular. Parallel street lines makes it easier to understand the whole pattern of the city. However it give the city to be more similar and unsurprising. Designing a city as an incredible work. The creator makes a map art, makes the city to look beautiful.
